Telescopes
Celestron 9.25 inch  f/10  Schmidt-Cassegrain on CGEM mount
This is my Celestron 9.25 inch Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope. It has full GOTO capabilities which means that it will, on command, point itself to any of the 30,000 astronomcial objects in its catalog.
Meade 127ED  APO  f/9  Refractor
The telescope has excellent optics but the orginal mount (shown above) was troublesome so it was later replaced with a Losmandy GM-8.
Meade 2045 - 4 inch Schmidt-Cassegrain
A nice, highly portable telescope which can easily split the four major components of Epsilon Lyrae (the double-double). Its major function is to provide Trick-or-Treaters with a quick view of the heavens on Halloween night.
Coronado PST - 40mm Ha Solar Refractor
A specially designed and constructed telescope for viewing the Sun in a very narrow band of the spectrum (light emitted by Hydrogen alpha gas). Shown here mounted on a Bogen photographic tripod.
Orion 8x42 UltraView Binoculars
These binoculars have a long (22mm) eye relief which allows the user to wear glasses and still see the entire field of view. Although primarily used for nature study, they are included here since they are also sometimes used for casual night sky observing.
